Tap Choose a photo, or drop the file onto the box above.

  2. Keep PNG selected

PNG keeps every pixel. Pick JPG instead if you need a smaller file.

  3. Convert and download

Tap Convert, then Download. The PNG is saved to your device.

PNG or JPG: which should you pick?

PNG is lossless: the image is stored exactly, pixel for pixel. That makes it a good choice for screenshots, graphics and photos you plan to edit again, because nothing is lost each time you save.

The trade-off is size. A PNG of a camera photo is usually much larger than the same photo as a JPG. If you only need to share or upload a photo, JPG is often the better pick.

Why can’t some apps open HEIC?

HEIC is the format iPhone uses for photos by default. It is based on HEIF, which Apple adopted in iOS 11, and it saves space compared with JPEG. Some Windows PCs, older apps and many websites still cannot open it, so converting to PNG or JPG is the simplest fix.
