These terms cover the Formatly app for iPhone (“the app”) and the website useformatly.com (“the website”). By using either, you accept these terms.
What Formatly is
Formatly converts images between formats such as JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and PDF. The app can also convert in batches, merge photos into one PDF, reduce file sizes, and change quality and metadata settings. The website offers a free converter for one photo at a time. All processing happens on your device.
No accounts
There are no accounts or logins. Your files, settings and history stay on your device, so we cannot recover them if you delete the app or lose your device.
Purchases, subscriptions and the free tier
- The app has a free tier with limited use. Unlimited and premium features need a subscription or a one-time purchase.
- Prices and plans are shown in the app and may change.
- Apple processes all payments under the App Store terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- A one-time purchase gives access for the life of the app.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. We cannot issue refunds directly.
Acceptable use
Use Formatly only for lawful purposes, and only convert images you own or have the right to use. Do not reverse engineer, tamper with or disrupt the app or the website.
Intellectual property
The app, the website and their original content belong to us or our licensors. Your photos and converted files remain yours. Other trademarks belong to their owners. The website’s converter uses open-source software listed on the support page.
No warranty
The app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation. A conversion may not preserve every detail of the original. Keep your originals.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost or altered files, data, time or money. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may change or discontinue the app, the website or these terms. Continuing to use them after a change takes effect means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
